The Sacramento area housing market started off 2011 a bit quicker than 2010, according to new figures released today by DataQuick Information System.
All but two counties in the eight county region had more home sales in January 2011 than during the same month a year earlier, according to the La- Jolla-based researcher. In Sacramento County there were 1,561 sales in January - new and resale homes and condos. That's up 5.4 percent from January 2010. Year over year Yolo county had a 2.7 percent increase, El Dorado County had a 25.7 percent increase, Nevada County had a 36 percent increase and Amador County saw its home sales double from 23 to start 2010 to 46 sales last month.
