Six months before 17-year-old Shelby Lyn Allen died of alcohol poisoning, she penned her last words to everyone. The Redding teenager was traveling internationally in summer 2008 and wrote the letter just in case the plane crashed.
She ended the note with this: "Remember not me, but the lessons and imprints put upon this world by me."
Allen had no idea the hard lesson we'd learn would be because of her death. She has become the poster child for two pieces of legislation regarding underage drinking that became law this month.
