How has the US real estate market affected its citizens? Compared to China, men who don't own a home "have it made" because they can still find a date; China however, is an entirely different subject.
With a rising real estate market and a clinging-to of tradition, Chinese women are very clear about what they want in a man: financial security. Many men in China have been denied places on Dating services and dates with women simply because they lack property.
Imagine...300 years ago having a home gave you status (in addition to meeting some other requirements). I am sure there are women in the US who wouldn't give a second thought to a man without a home, job, or car, but in China, having a car, job, and money isn't enough: you need a home too.
One Chinese man commented, "'My friends tell me I’m quite handsome,'" but it seems that it just isn't enough to be good looking; a man must have good looks and the title to a home.
