The average price of gasoline statewide rose 9 cents a gallon the past month, according to the AAA Northern California gas price survey released Tuesday.
The state average for a gallon of regular unleaded gas is $3.35, up from $3.26 in the Dec. 14 survey and 29 cents higher than a year ago.
In Northern California, the average price also is $3.35 a gallon, up 7 cents from December.
AAA said the average price nationwide is $3.09, up 11 cents from last month and 34 cents from last year.
